XRay Editor

XRay Editor

The XRay Editor window is used to set the name and parameters for an XRay. This window can be opened from any of the following places:

The XRay Editor window contains the following items:
XRay
This popup menu presents a list of all eligible XRays. This list is determined by looking at all the XRay files in the DragInstall Extensions folder and checking to see what "modes" they support. Only those XRays which support the current mode are shown in the popup menu.

There are three XRay "modes": before, after, and standalone. Not all XRays are appropriate for all modes. For example, the Invisify XRay, which makes an installed item invisible only makes sense as an After XRay.

Description
This field displays a description for the currently selected XRay. This information is read from a resource of type 'XInf' within the XRay file.
Parameter Description
This field displays a description of the current parameter. This description changes as you tab between parameters. This information is also read from a resource of type 'XInf' within the XRay file.
Parameter Values
The XRay Editor dialog presents entry fields for entering any parameters needed by an XRay. Note that not all XRays require parameters (i.e. RestoreFolder). The parameters you enter are written to the final installer in a resource of type 'XPar' with an ID that varies depending on the number and type of items in your installer. If you are producing installers for multiple languages and some of your parameters require localization, you will need to translate the appropriate resources after the installer is built.
